Quebec Selection Certificate holders can extend their stay in Canada

Foreign nationals selected by Quebec through its Regular Skilled Worker Program and the Quebec Experience Program can have their work permits extended without a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). If you work in Quebec and hold a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ), you will need a valid work permit while you wait for a decision on your immigration application. When it comes time to extend your work permit, the next steps will vary depending on whether you are applying for permanent residency. If you have applied for permanent residence, the type of work permit depends on whether you have received an Acknowledgment of Return (AOR) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). T he Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) began in 1998 as a way for the federal and provincial governments to spread immigration benefits across Canada. Provinces can choose candidates they believe will support their economic growth and recommend that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) grant them permanent resident status. Starting at 00:01 Eastern Time on June 20, Canada will suspend vaccination requirements for domestic and international travel, state-regulated transportation and federal government employees. Canadian government officials say the suspension of the vaccination mission reflects an improving public health situation in Canada. Existing vaccination regulations continue to apply at the border as the corona virus continues to spread around the world and the risk of contagion varies from country to country. These requirements include isolation and testing requirements for Canadians who are not fully vaccinated. Vaccination requirements for cruise ship passengers and crew remain in effect. Other public health measures, such as wearing masks, still
