This past week, three Canadian provinces held  Provincial Nominee Program  (PNP) draws, inviting candidates to take the next step toward  permanent residence . Most Canadian provinces and territories (except for  Quebec  and Nunavut) operate their own PNPs. Provincial officials who manange these programs invite interested candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. While a provincial nomination is not the same as permanent residence, it can greatly increase one’s chances of obtaining permanent residency status.   Express Entry Canada Invites 924 PNP Candidates to Apply for immigration  || VO Visas  Canada has now held six PNP draws in 2022. Canada invited 924 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence on March 16. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada  (IRCC) only invited  Provincial Nominee Program  (PNP) candidates in the new invitation round. To be invited, candidates needed to have a  Comprehensive Ranking System  (CRS) of at least 754. The minimum score was relatively high because PNP candidates get an automatic 600 points added to their score when they receive their nomination. Without the nomination, the lowest-scoring candidates would have had 154 base points. Invited candidates now have 60 days to apply for  Canadian permanent residence .  Canada’s Express Entry backlog has declined by nearly 24,000 persons || VO Visas  IRCC has processed more FSWP applicants in the last 2.5 months than it did in all of 2021. Canada’s economic class immigration backlog stands at 231,187 people waiting on decisions for their applications, according to February 28 data provided by  Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada  (IRCC). At the beginning of February 2022, the economic class inventory stood at 230,573 persons, meaning the inventory grew by 614 persons. While it may seem that little progress was made last month, a closer look suggests that gains are being made, particularly among the Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Program inventories.
