British Columbia, Manitoba, and Alberta hold PNP draws || VO Visas  Here is a review of the results of the Provincial Nominees Program invitation round released last week Last week, Manitoba hosted a special  Provincial Nominee Program  (PNP) invitation for Ukrainian citizens, and British Columbia and Alberta announced the results of new draws. Most Canadian provinces and territories (except Quebec and Nunavut) have their own PNPs. Through these programs, interested candidates may be invited to run for the provincial nomination. While provincial nomination itself is not equivalent to permanent residency, it can greatly increase your chances of obtaining permanent resident status. For example, a PNP candidate nominated with an  Express Entry  profile will receive an additional 600 points. You may also be invited to request specific PNP invitation rounds. In the latest Express Entry lottery held last week, Canada invited 589 PNP candidates to enter with a Comprehensive Ranking System (

May 23-29 is Canadian Citizenship Week and we celebrate what it means to be Canadian, from the rights and freedoms we enjoy to the responsibilities we share and the diversity that makes us strong. For those with at least one Canadian parent, you can become a citizen even if you were born abroad. Get a Free Express Entry Assessment Canada allows both biological and legal parents to transfer citizenship to a child born outside the country, as long as the parents are first-generation Canadians at the time of the child's birth. Canadian citizenship, once inherited, cannot be inherited. Therefore, if you were born abroad to Canadian parents, your child will not automatically receive Canadian citizenship if they were also born abroad. If this describes one of her parents, he may already be Canadian. For this

Express Entry New PNP draw invites 589 candidates || VO Visas Canada held a new round of invitations on May 25 to invite 589  Express Entry  candidates to apply for permanent residence. The minimum score to be invited to participate in this draw is 741. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) only invites candidates with previous provincial nominations, which is why the cut-off score is so high. Express Entry candidates nominated under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) will automatically receive 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, which will be added to their base score. Compared to the previous one, this draw is slightly larger and the CRS cap is lower. In previous Express Entry draws, IRCC invited 545 PNP candidates with a score of at least 753. Express Entry draws for FSWP and CEC candidates to resume in July Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said Express Entry invitations for  Federal Skilled Worker Program  (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) cand

The world has seen Alberta in some of America's most popular movies and television series. Alberta's provincial  government recently announced plans to invest more in the film and television sector. "Alberta's motion picture industry has doubled its production value and is becoming one of the fastest-growing industries in our province," Alberta Secretary of Labor Doug Schweitzer said in a press release. The total budget for the 2022-2023 Alberta Film and Television Tax Credit Program is $70 million, and 2024-2025 is $225 million. "Our increased investment in the film and television tax credit means more action from our province in the years to come," Schweitzer said. The ultimate goal is to

Canada planning major Express Entry changes || VO Visas Future fast submission rounds may invite candidates by major, language, or educational level. The Canadian government is planning changes to the Express Entry system to allow the immigration minister to invite candidates based on economic goals. In an email to CIC News, Aiden Strickland, a spokesman for the immigration minister, said the proposed changes would improve Canada's ability to screen applicants that meet its financial needs. "Through our growing pool of permanent resident applicants, IRCC will be able to conduct targeted lotteries designed to select those in the cohort with specific language skills or healthcare qualifications, to name a few," Strickland wrote. "This is critical to addressing Canada's labor shortage." The changes are currently being discussed in Canada's parliament. On May 19, Philip Somogyvari of  Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada  (IRCC) presented the propo

Quebec, BC and PEI Release Immigration Draw Results || VO Visas Here are the most recent provincial immigration draws in Canada Over the past week, two Canadian provinces announced the results of their Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws, and Quebec recently held a draw through Arrima. Most Canadian provinces and territories (except Quebec and Nunavut) have their own PNPs. Through these programs, interested candidates may be invited to run for the provincial nomination. While provincial nomination itself is not equivalent to permanent residency, it can significantly increase your chances of obtaining permanent residency. For example, a PNP candidate nominated with an Express Entry profile will receive an additional 600 points. You may also be invited to request specific PNP invitation rounds. When the PNP was established in 1998, it only received 400 immigrants, but thanks to its success, it now receives more than 80,000 immigrants each year. The increase in PNP enrollment in Cana

How can Canada avoid major immigration backlogs in the future || VO Visas?   Opinion: Here are 6 tips to get your Canadian immigration business back on track. Earlier this month, the Canadian Parliament's Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration (CIMM) began examining application processing times and processing delays for IRCC applications. The purpose of the ICMM is to monitor the immigration system and publish studies to provide recommendations for improvement. CIMM invited me to Ottawa for this study, which I completed on May 5th. I would like to use this article as an opportunity to explain my proposal. The order book has doubled to 2.1 million since the pandemic began. This includes applicants for permanent residence, temporary residence, and citizenship. Needless to say, the backlog is hurting Canada's economy, tearing families apart, and reducing Canada's ability to provide humanitarian assistance to those in need.   There is no doubt that the pandemic is t

Canadian politician wants to improve Super Visa for parents and grandparents || VO Visas If passed, the new law will make it easier and cheaper for parents and grandparents to stay in Canada longer. Canadian MP Kyle Seeback has introduced a new bill to support parents and grandparents coming to Canada.   The proposed changes will affect parental and grandparent supervision. Currently, Supervisa allows parents and grandparents of Canadians to visit for two consecutive years without needing to renew their status. The visa itself allows for multiple entries to Canada over 10 years. Like the Parents and Grandparents Program, Canadian children or grandchildren must meet a minimum income required by the government. Parents and grandparents must also purchase health insurance from a Canadian company.   Feedback is a member of the Conservative Party and a member of the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration.
