  VO Visas || Alberta holds small PNP draw with highest CRS cut-off since February The November 24 draw was tied for the second-smallest draw of the year, and had the second-highest CRS requirement. Alberta invited 100 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on November 24. It was a relatively small draw, considering the majority of this year’s  Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program  (AINP) draws have invited more than 200 candidates at a time. Only one other draw in January was as small as 100, and the smallest was 50. The score requirement was also relatively high for an Alberta draw at 350. British Columbia invited 318 immigration candidates through  Provincial Nominee Program  (PNP) draws held on December 7. The province held two draws through the  British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program  (BC PNP) and invited candidates from the  Skills Immigration  (SI) and  Express Entry BC  (EEBC) streams. Invitations were issued to those from the  Skilled Worker ,  International Graduate  as well as  Entry Level and Semi-Skilled   sub-categories of SI and EEBC streams. Ontario came back with a bang on December 7, inviting 1,186 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The  Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program  ( OINP ) issued invitations to candidates who had profiles in its  Expression of Interest  (EOI) system.   VO Visas || Manitoba PNP invites 438 immigration candidates Manitoba has now issued 10,437 invitations so far in 2021. Manitoba held a new immigration draw on December 2. The  Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program  (MPNP) invited a total of 438 immigration candidates across three  Provincial Nominee Programs  (PNPs): Skilled Workers in Manitoba  — 358 invitations with a minimum EOI score of 449; Skilled Workers Overseas  — 51 invitations with a minimum EOI score of 726; and International Education Stream  — 29 invitations with no EOI score requirement. Among these invitations, 71 were issued to candidates in the  Express Entry  system.   VO Visas || Canadian citizenship applicants with representatives can now apply  Citizenship applicants who have representatives can now apply online, although the representative still cannot apply on their behalf. Canada’s online citizenship application portal is open to people who have representatives, but reps will not be able to apply on their behalf until sometime next year. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada  (IRCC) expanded its  online portal  to include applications from applicants who have representatives on November 30. “These applicants will still need to complete, sign, date and submit the application themselves and must not share their account access or password with anyone, including their representative,” IRCC said in an email. “Representatives cannot yet apply online on behalf of an applicant, but they can still provide advice on completing the application and they can communicate with IRCC on the applicant’s behalf after the online application is submitted.”

With employment soaring beyond predictions and unemployment dropping to near pre-pandemic levels, new labour force data suggest that Canada is on its way to a full economic recovery. This past November, Canadian employers added 154,000 jobs to the economy. Last month’s growth exceeded analysts’ predictions of 38,000, which was closer to  October  levels. The gains pushed employment a full percentage point higher than pre-pandemic levels. Also, unemployment dropped to 6%, which is within 0.3 percentage points of what it was in February 2020. Data from Statistics Canada’s  Labour Force Survey  reflect labour market conditions during the week of November 7 to 13.
