In 2019, Indian citizens accounted for a quarter of the 341,000 immigrants who were welcomed by Canada. In 2015, Indian citizens made up just 14 per cent of Canada’s immigrants. When examining the distribution of people who applied through the Express Entry system, Indians accounted for almost half of the principal applicants who were invited to apply for permanent residence between 2017 and 2019. By comparison, only 7 per cent of invitations were issued to immigrants from Nigeria and China, the second and third most common source countries of Canadian immigrants. Latest CRS Scores Draw on 01-May-2020 | Canada Express Entry

Image
Express Entry draw figures for the May 1 draw are below. In the May 1 Express Entry draw for immigration to Canada, 3,311 candidates will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). This draw was restricted exclusively to candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off threshold for this draw was 452 points.  This draw continues IRCC’s trend of issuing invitations only to PNP and CEC candidates. It has now been more than one month since the last all-program draw. A trusted legal source confirmed in conversation with IRCC that Express Entry draws are being limited to PNP and CEC candidates for the time being in response to COVID-19. It is unclear how long these restrictions will remain in place.  Why is Express Entry restricting draws to PNP and CEC candidates? Since COVID-19 became a public health crisis in Canada, IRCC has been restricting draws to candidates from either Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)...

They contribute $39 billion to Australia’s economy each year and support 240,000 jobs. Some 22 per cent of Canada’s 38 million people are immigrants while 30 per cent of Australia’s 25.5 million people are immigrants. ...
