Here is a review of the results of the Provincial Nominees Program invitation round released last week
Last week, Manitoba hosted a special Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) invitation for Ukrainian citizens, and British Columbia and Alberta announced the results of new draws.
Most Canadian provinces and territories (except Quebec and Nunavut) have their own PNPs. Through these programs, interested candidates may be invited to run for the provincial nomination. While provincial nomination itself is not equivalent to permanent residency, it can greatly increase your chances of obtaining permanent resident status.
For example, a PNP candidate nominated with an Express Entry profile will receive an additional 600 points. You may also be invited to request specific PNP invitation rounds. In the latest Express Entry lottery held last week, Canada invited 589 PNP candidates to enter with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 741.
Last week, three Canadian provinces released the results of invitations to immigration candidates as part of their PNPs. This is our weekly review of the latest PNP giveaways.

Alberta
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) invited 100 Express Entry candidates to apply for the Alberta Express Entry stream on May 19.
Express Entry candidates needed a CRS score of at least 382 in order to be invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Alberta.
To apply for the Alberta Express Entry stream, candidates need to have work experience in an eligible occupation. The AAIP does not provide a list of eligible occupations, rather it offers a list of occupations that are not eligible for the stream.
Factors that increase the likelihood of nomination include work experience, education in Canada, or job opportunities in Alberta. It also helps if family members already live in Alberta, such as parents, children, or siblings.
Candidates must also meet the eligibility requirements for expedited filing. The minimum CRS score to be considered is 300. Express Entry candidates can receive an invitation if they indicate in their profile that they are interested in moving to Alberta permanently.
British Columbia
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held its weekly invitational competition on May 24. A total of 137 BC immigration candidates have received invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. A total of 115 candidates were invited through the BC Tech lottery. Candidates invited through the BC Tech lottery must meet British Columbia Express Entry BC requirements and one of the skilled immigration categories managed through the Registration System. skills and immigration (SIRS).
The candidates invited to participate in this draw are from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories with a minimum required score of 85 per province.
The province also held two more lotteries for candidates in specific occupations. A total of 11 qualified educators were invited for the 'Skilled Worker' and 'International Graduate' subcategories. British Columbia also invited 11 healthcare professionals who may be eligible for the subcategories of skilled workers, international graduates or beginners, and self-taught skills. Both draws require entrants to have a minimum provincial score of 60.
Manitoba
As a special immigration measure for Ukrainian citizens, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) holds regular drawings to invite them to apply for a provincial nomination.
This is to help people affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine to come and live in the province. The country has hosted three rounds of special invitational tournaments since mid-March.
The last one was held on May 20, with 13 Letters of Proposal (LAA) issued with a minimum score of 60.
To be eligible, candidates must also have at least a CLB 4 in each language category, valid language proficiency proof, and a proven connection to Manitoba, such as next of kin, previous employment, or being in Manitoba to learn.
