A look at the latest PNP draw results in BC, Manitoba and Ontario.
Canadian provinces
regularly nominate candidates through their provincial
nominee programs, giving them the opportunity to become permanent residents
of Canada. Last week, Manitoba and B.C. announced the results of their new
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws, and Ontario provided details on the May
draw.
Most Canadian
provinces and territories (except Quebec and Nunavut) have their own PNPs. Through
these programs, interested candidates may be invited to apply for provincial
nominations. While provincial nomination itself is not equivalent to permanent
resident status, it can greatly increase your chances of obtaining permanent
resident status.
For example, a
nominated PNP candidate with an Express Entry profile will receive an
additional 600 points. You may also be invited to apply for specific PNP
invitation rounds. In the latest Express Submission draw, held on May 27,
Canada invited 589 NPP candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
score of at least 741.
Below is a summary of
recent PNP invitation rounds held across Canada.
British Columbia
British
Columbia typically hosts weekly invitations to the Provincial Nominee
Program (PNP). The final round of invitations to the British
Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) took place on May 31. In these
draws, more than 167 candidates received invitations to compete for the
provincial nomination.
A total of 147
candidates were invited by lottery. These candidates must meet the requirements
of one of the Express Entry BC or British Columbia Skilled Immigration
categories administered through the Skills and Immigration Registration System
(SIRS).
Candidates invited to
participate in this draw are from the Professional, International Graduate, and
Entry-level, and Self-Study subcategories, requiring a provincial minimum score
between 76 and 123, depending on the stream.
The province also
conducts recruitment rounds for candidates in specific occupations to meet
growing workforce demands in specific industries. This week, the province
invites:
- 15 early childhood educators (NOC 4214)
with a minimum score of 60;
- 5 health workers with at least 60 points;
- Fewer than 5 health workers (NOC 3413) with
a score of at least 60;
- Fewer than five animal health technicians
and veterinarians (NOC 3114 and NOC 3213) with a score of at least 60.
Manitoba
The Manitoba
Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 146 candidates to apply on June 2.
Invitations are distributed between two immigration streams:
- Skilled Workers Overseas — 92
invitations with a minimum score of 714 and
- International Education Stream — 54
invitations with no score requirement.
Of all those
invited to apply, 34 had profiles in the Express Entry system.
Those interested in a
Manitoba provincial nomination must register an Expression of Interest (EOI)
with the MPNP. Manitoba ranks candidates' profiles out of 1,000 based on their
human capital factors and their ties to the province. The MPNP then sends out
invitations to eligible candidates to apply for provincial nominations for
Manitoba skilled workers and overseas skilled workers.
Ontario
Ontario
has suspended the release of the results of the Ontario Immigrant Candidate
Program (OINP) draw due to provincial elections.
We contacted the OINP
for details on draws that took place during the month of May. According to the
data provided by the province, two rounds of invitations were held during the
past month.
On May 4, 2022, the
province issued 57 invitations to apply to potential candidates in the
Expression of Interest system pool who may qualify for the Employer Job
Offer: In-Demand Skills stream with a score of 27 and above.
On May 26, 2022, the
province issued 535 notifications of interest to potential candidates who may
qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades stream with a
comprehensive ranking system score between 295 and 461.
